Last updated: 6 October 2026
1. Who we are
Carbon Content is a creative media business based in Cardiff, South Wales, UK. For privacy questions, contact info@carboncontent.co.uk.
2. Information we collect
Depending on how you interact with us, we may collect your name, email address, phone number, business name, job role, website or social profile, project requirements, budget range, communications, payment-related information, client portal account details, shoot information and content approval records.
3. How we collect information
We collect information directly from you through website enquiry forms, email, phone, meetings, proposals, contracts and the Carbon client portal. We may also receive business contact information that you make publicly available or that is provided by someone in your organisation.
4. Why we use your information
- to respond to enquiries and prepare proposals;
- to deliver contracted content, web, social and related services;
- to organise shoots, approvals, publishing plans and client communications;
- to process and record payments and maintain business records;
- to protect our systems, prevent misuse and resolve disputes; and
- where appropriate, to keep you informed about relevant Carbon services.
5. Lawful bases
We use personal information where it is necessary to take steps at your request before entering a contract, to perform a contract, to comply with legal obligations, or where we have a legitimate business interest that is not overridden by your rights. Where the law requires consent, you may withdraw it at any time.
6. Who we share information with
We may share information with trusted service providers that help us operate, such as hosting, email, cloud storage, payment, accounting, editing, production and software providers. We only share what is reasonably necessary for the service being provided. We may also disclose information where required by law.
7. International services
Some technology providers may process data outside the UK. Where this happens, we take reasonable steps to use providers and safeguards appropriate for UK data protection requirements.
8. How long we keep information
We keep enquiry information only for as long as it remains useful for managing the enquiry and follow-up. Client, contract, payment and accounting records may be retained for up to six years after the relevant relationship or transaction where this is needed for legal, tax or dispute purposes. Operational content records and portal access may be removed or archived when they are no longer required.
9. Your rights
Depending on the circumstances, you may have rights to access, correct, erase or restrict personal information, object to certain uses, request portability and withdraw consent where consent is the lawful basis. To exercise a right, email info@carboncontent.co.uk.
10. Complaints
If you have a concern, please contact us first so we can try to resolve it. You also have the right to complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ICO).
